One of the most common questions we get asked is "Where should I go on a date in Los Angeles?"
Luckily, Los Angeles is a huge city with plenty of places to take your date. Whether you're looking for a romantic evening out or something more fun and active, we got you covered with some of the best date ideas for LA.
How we did our research. 🕵️
We shoot candid photos for dating apps (like Tinder and Bumble) in LA, so we surveyed some of our clients to find these hidden gems. 💎 We also asked our photographers Haila and Xenia for their best date spots.
The Boy & The Bear
The Boy & The Bear is a staple in the LA coffee scene and one of the easiest first date ideas. It's also one of LA’s most unique cafes. With photo-worthy ambiance and delicious coffee, there are plenty of reasons why you should add this LA spot to your list.
The espresso is incredible and the vibe is next-level, making it one of LA’s most unique cafes. Our favorite spot is their Redondo Beach location where they roast everything on site in a warehouse-style space with indoor and outdoor seating.
There are a lot of coffee shops in Los Angeles where you can take a date, but The Boy & The Bear is one of the most unique and memorable which is why we rank it as one of the best date spots in LA.

The Griffith Observatory, located at the top of a hill in LA's iconic city park. It is one of the most romantic date spots Los Angeles has to offer.
The views are impressive, so you can stroll through exhibits and planetarium shows inside before heading outside for some LA night view gazing. Both daytime and nighttime views from this LA location are breathtaking.
While you may have visited the observatory for school field trips back in the day, it's a completely different experience when bringing a date. This is one of the more fun date ideas on our list.
